A new Pokémon Unite leak has revealed Espeon will be added to the game, and here is when the Evee evolution may be released in the Nintendo MOBA.
A major Pokémon Unite leak has revealed that Espeon will be added to the game as a playable character soon. Originally launching in 2021, Pokémon Unite was Nintendo’s first jump into the MOBA genre. In the team-based multiplayer, trainers choose from a large roster of Pokémon to battle as including popular Kanto Pokémon Eevee and its evolutions. According to a new datamine however, Pokémon Unite is going to be getting additional evolution Espeon in a future update.
Originally making its debut in Pokémon Gold and Silver in 1999, Espeon was one of the first Eeveelutions to not evolve with an evolution stone. In the Johto region RPG, players could infamously obtain the Psychic-type Pokémon by leveling up an Eevee with a high friendship value during the daytime. Decades later, the Psychic version of Eevee is now set to make its appearance in Pokémon Unite.
Espeon’s upcoming release was first discovered by Pokémon Unite dataminer ElChicoEevee who posted details about the Psychic-type Pokémon in a series of posts on Twitter. According to the alleged Pokémon Unite leak, Espeon will be added to the MOBA’s Attacker class alongside Pokémon such as Sylveon and Gardevoir. Below is a breakdown of everything that was revealed about Espeon in the Pokémon Unite datamine leaks.
In the May Pokémon Unite datamine, allegedly leaked data listed Espeon as a “Ranged Attacker” with a “Novice” difficulty level. Just like Eevee’s other evolution Sylveon, the Psychic-type will evolve once players reach level 4 in a match. Even though Espeon is slotted in as an Attacker, the leak appears to confirm that the Johto Pokémon will come equipped with a handful of stuns and status-impacting moves.
The Pokémon Unite datamine also unveiled Espeon’s Holowear, including a Pokébuki Set that includes special visual FX. The leak claims that the outfit can be purchased for 1,539 Gems for a limited time discount, although this pricing can change upon release. Espeon’s Pokémon Unite license price is currently unknown. With Eevee’s previous evolution Sylveon being priced at 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems, Espeon could be given a similar cost range. Although the Pokémon Unite leak didn’t include a release date, players have theorized that Espeon could be added to the MOBA soon after it was discovered that its Pokébuki Holowear set had a May 15th release listed in the datamine. The skin is also named after the Pokémon Unite Pokébuki Event which is currently running in the game from May to June 2022. Developer TiMi Studio created further speculation after the official Pokémon Unite Twitter account posted an image of Eevee with a cryptic tweet that read: “There’s exciting competition in your future…“
Pokémon Unite dataminer ElChicoEevee seemed to echo the potential for a May 15th release date, after confirming that Espeon’s License pricing had not yet been pushed on the server yet. With the official Pokémon Unite social media already teasing its debut in the Nintendo multiplayer, it’s likely that players will be given a trailer for Espeon soon.
