Genshin Impact: Best Weapons For Kamisato Ayaka – GameRant

Players who intend on using Kamisato Ayaka in Genshin Impact to her fullest potential should prioritize these great weapons.
Ever since Genshin Impact was officially released, Kamisato Ayaka has been anticipated by the fans. This is thanks to her appearance in the beta. While the wait took a while, players still gladly welcome the Cryo Princess. She was released in Genshin Impact 2.0, along with the Japanese region, Inazuma.

Ayaka's skill set mostly focuses on utilizing Cryo damage. She can be the main DPS or sub-DPS in Genshin Impact, depending on the player's needs. As a Cryo unit, her best artifact (currently) is a four-piece of Blizzard Strayer. Meanwhile, for Ayaka's best weapon in Genshin Impact, there are a few viable options.
Updated on July 24, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: Dendro is coming soon in version 3.0, but some meta Cryo characters likely will stay popular among the fanbase. This includes the overpowered archer, Ganyu, and the Cryo princess, Kamisato Ayaka.
Even with the release of several new swords, like Haran Geppaku Futsu (that's the best-in-slot weapon for Ayaka's brother, Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayato), Ayaka's best weapons in the game haven't really changed. However, to provide a more extensive list of viable swords, this article has been updated to include more weapons players can use on Ayaka.

Festering Desire is a free sword obtainable in Genshin Impact 1.2. It's an amazing weapon for sub-DPS that relies on Elemental Skill and Burst. For main DPS Ayaka, Festering Desire isn't as good as the universal-role swords, but for sub-DPS Ayaka, Festering Desire can perform greatly.
Its passive will boost Ayaka's Elemental Skill damage while its secondary stat will help the Cryo Princess regain her ultimate faster. Unfortunately, if players missed out on the 1.2 event, there's currently no way to get this sword. Hopefully, though, HoYoverse will consider opening other methods to get event-locked weapons in the future.
Harbinger of Dawn may be a 3-star weapon in Genshin Impact, but it's comparable to some R1 4-star weapons thanks to its powerful passive. As long as players can maintain the wielder's HP above 90%, they will enjoy an additional 28% Critical Rate on top of its Critical DMG sub-stat.
One downside of this sword is the fact that it has a low base ATK (which is normal for a 3-star weapon, though). Furthermore, as Ayaka is a Cryo unit, the Critical Rate bonus may end up being wasted on her.
Blackcliff weapons are always a great option for F2P players. For Kamisato Ayaka, Blackcliff Longsword is perfect for its Critical Damage sub-stat and attack-enhancing passive. As a Cryo character, it's trivial for her to stack Critical Rate. Blizzard Strayer can grant a 40% Critical Rate, and Cryo Resonance can grant another 15%. So Ayaka basically has a free 60% Critical Rate (with the 5% base stat). So all players need to do is stack as much Critical Damage as possible.
To get this weapon, players have to spare 24 Masterless Starglitter at the Paimon Shop.
Aquila Favonia in Genshin Impact could have been the best sword in the game, but sadly, there are not many characters that can utilize it. Any sword characters that are being played as a Physical DPS will benefit from Aquila, but so far, Physical sword DPS is not very popular. Some units that are viable for this role include Jean, Kaeya, and Keqing.
For Ayaka, obviously, people won't want her as a Physical DPS. Nevertheless, the large base ATK provided by Aquila Favonia successfully proves the sword's worth as a stat stick. Even if the Kamisato Princess won't be able to use the weapon's sub-stat, Aquila still triumphs over some basic 4-star swords.
Freedom-Sworn's passive and sub-stat may not be the most optimal for Ayaka, but as a 5-star weapon, this weapon is still a great option for the Kamisato Princess. Considering how easy it is for her Elemental Burst to trigger a reaction, players are pretty much guaranteed to trigger Freedom-Sworn's passive every time Ayaka casts her ultimate.

The weapon will then increase attack by 20% and buff Normal, Charged, and Plunging damage by 16%. This bonus is applied to everyone in the team, which means it will enhance the overall DPS.
Skyward Blade in Genshin Impact is a great option for both main and sub-DPS Ayaka. For sub-DPS, the weapon offers an Energy Recharge sub-stat, which allows Ayaka to cast her Elemental Burst more often.
Meanwhile, for the main DPS, Skyward Blade increases Ayaka's attack speed by 10% after she casts her ultimate. Additionally, she will also deal extra damage with her Normal and Charged attack hits. Although, like The Flute, this damage scales with Physical bonuses, so Ayaka won't be able to fully benefit from it.
Amenoma Kageuchi is the best F2P option for Kamisato Ayaka. This weapon is obtainable via forging in Genshin Impact. It has a low base attack, but the weapon makes it up with a higher attack sub-stat. However, the star of the show is its passive. After using her Elemental Skill, Ayaka will gain one stack (maximum three, lasts 30s). Then, if she uses Elemental Burst, the stacks will be consumed and each will regenerate 6 Energy for the Cryo Princess.

Assuming players can use Ayaka's ultimate every time its cooldown ended (every 20s), then they'll immediately regenerate 12 Energy afterward. At maximum refinement, this number is doubled to 24 Energy.
Of course, the best 4-star weapon for Kamisato Ayaka would be the Battle Pass weapon, Black Sword. If players can spare 10 bucks, then they should consider getting one of the available Battle Pass weapons in Genshin Impact. Thanks to their Critical Rate sub-stat, all the available weapons are highly useful for any damage-dealing units.
If players use Black Sword with Ayaka, they might want to keep a close eye on her artifacts and ensure they don't have too much Critical Rate. It's easy to have excessive Critical Rates if Travelers are equipping the Cryo Princess with 4-Blizzard Strayer and putting her in a Cryo Resonance.
Primordial Jade Cutter is one of the best swords in Genshin Impact, where it's equipped with a massive Critical Rate sub-stat and a passive that can be used by any unit. However, as the weapon has an insane 44.1% Critical Rate, this may be way too much for Ayaka. Therefore, if players opt for this weapon, they shouldn't use 4-Blizzard Strayer. Instead, they can use other options like 2-Blizzard Strayer + 2-Gladiator's Finale.

With Kamisato Ayaka having one of the highest base HP (top 15), Primordial Jade Cutter will also decently buff Ayaka's attack.
Summit Shaper is a rather niche option where players will need to pair Ayaka with a dedicated Genshin Impact shielder that can maintain 100% shield uptime. By far, characters that can do this are Zhongli and Thoma. Diona can also do this easily if she's wielding the Sacrificial Bow (other than that, the bartender is a great pair with Ayaka to trigger Cryo Resonance).
Apart from the whopping 49.6% attack off its sub-stat, players can get 40% more from its passive. Considering how high Ayaka's base stat is, this will eventually stack up to be a large number.
Topping the list is clearly Ayaka's signature weapon, the Mistsplitter Reforged. Other than it having the highest base attack among other swords, the weapon further enhances Ayaka's Critical Damage by 44.1% and the Elemental damage bonus by 12%. Afterward, the Kamisato Princess can gain an 8/16/28% Cryo damage bonus by maintaining the weapon's stack. Players can gain a stack by dealing Elemental Normal Attack damage (lasts 5s), casting Elemental Burst (lasts 10s), and having less than 100% Energy.
Mistsplitter Reforged is currently only available via the weapon banner, so players have to wait until then to get their hands on one.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
