PUBG: Battlegrounds and New State Mobile are having a crossover event with Assassin’s Creed, bringing a raft of exclusive items to both games.
KRAFTON recently announced that PUBG: Battlegrounds and NEW STATE Mobile will soon have crossover events with the Assassin’s Creed franchise. For a limited time, both battle royale titles will implement elements of Ubisoft’s long-running action-adventure series into their worlds and offer unique Assassin’s Creed-themed items. PUBG‘s event will occur from August 17-September 22, while New State Mobile‘s will occur from August 18-September 21.
KRAFTON’s PUBG is an early battle royale game credited with popularizing the genre and introducing new gameplay elements, like a shrinking useable map area, which became standard battle royale features. It is generally considered one of the more important indie games in recent years. NEW STATE Mobile is a futuristic pseudo-sequel to PUBG with a variety of new aspects and a more dynamic environment. Both titles feature in-game shops which will house many of the limited-time items, and NEW STATE Mobile will introduce new story missions with additional rewards. Assassin’s Creed, on the other hand, is a primarily single-player story-based series centered around an ancient order called the Assassins, who are locked in an eternal struggle with a secret organization known as the Templars.
KRAFTON has revealed that the PUBG and Assassin’s Creed crossover features a variety of cosmetic rewards during the event period, including character and weapon skins. Additionally, there will be several themed resources available on the Haven map, and props from the series will appear as well. For example, one of the most important locations on PUBG‘s Haven map will be converted into an Abstergo Industries facility containing some hidden AC Easter eggs. PUBG‘s collaboration with Assassin’s Creed will feature the following as items:
NEW STATE Mobile‘s crossover will be similar, but rewards will be doled out through limited-time events, collaboration crates, and more. KRAFTON revealed that the collaboration will include over 30 unique costumes, weapon skins, and items. The company will also add daily log-in rewards and story missions that grant Assassin’s Creed-themed prizes. NEW STATE Mobile‘s collaboration with Assassin’s Creed will feature:
Relatively few Assassin’s Creed items have been revealed thus far, but KRAFTON has plenty of time to announce more as the start date approaches. NEW STATE Mobile‘s limited-time events, which will yield themed crate tickets used to get some of the prizes, were also left intentionally vague. Both games have handled collaborations fairly well in the past, and compared to PUBG: Battleground‘s recent string of strange anime crossovers, an Assassin’s Creed event is relatively normal. Though recent Assassin’s Creed games have been more controversial than the earlier entries, it seems like KRAFTON will have the entire franchise to draw from.
