Disney Racing Game Reveals Magical Beauty & The Beast-Inspired Track – Screen Rant

The upcoming Disney Speedstorm unveils its new Beauty and the Beast-inspired race track, which will let players speed through the Beast’s Castle.
The upcoming Disney-themed kart racer Disney Speedstorm has just unveiled a new track modeled after the classic 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast. Based on the 1756 French fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a book-loving villager who falls in love with the seemingly cruel and fearsome Beast while imprisoned in his castle. Beauty and the Beast has seen fan remakes in Animal Crossing, The Sims 4, and more, and is even featured in several Disney-related video games like the Kingdom Hearts series.
Earlier this year, Disney announced that it is partnering with Asphalt developer Gameloft for Disney Speedstorm, a Mario Kart-style racing game that will let fans speed through locations from classic Disney films like Monsters Inc. and Pirates of the Caribbean. Revealed during February’s Nintendo Direct livestream, fans have since taken to social media to suggest their favorite movies and characters to be featured in Disney Speedstorm, and with lots of options, there’s plenty of heroes and villains the game could add. Indeed, the developer behind Disney Speedstorm has slowly begun to unveil new tracks and characters for this upcoming race through the Magic Kingdom, including Pirates of the Caribbean heroine Elizabeth Swann.

The official Disney Speedstorm Twitter account has confirmed that Beauty and the Beast will be getting its own racetrack, revealing the track in a magical video. The elegant course will take players through the rooms and corridors of the Beast’s Castle, including the kitchen where the castle’s residents entertained Belle with the iconic musical number “Be Our Guest.” Along the way, racers will have to dodge obstacles like giant spinning teacups and swinging golden pendulums, and it appears that Belle and Beast will be playable characters as the trailer briefly shows them speeding through the Beauty and the Beast course on their own karts.
Aside from the upcoming multiplatform release of Disney Speedstorm, it seems like an exciting time for Disney gaming fans. A mobile-based RPG titled Disney Mirrorverse will allow players to build their own teams of reimagined Disney heroes and villains as they battle against crystal-like monsters in a parallel world, and Gameloft is also developing a life simulator titled Disney Dreamlight Valley – which will let fans interact with their favorite characters and rebuild classic Disney worlds. The recently announced Kingdom Hearts 4 will likely introduce even more of these worlds into its ever-expanding universe, and there are rumors that Xbox and Bethesda are developing multiple Disney titles to go with the confirmed Indiana Jones game.
In the meantime, Disney Speedstorm looks to be a promising kart racer that will let fans of the House Of Mouse tear through their favorite movie locations, including the dark and wonderous castle from Beauty and the Beast. The movie’s inclusion in Disney Speedstorm seemed like a given considering how popular it remains with fans, and the newly-revealed Beauty and the Beast track captures the elegant charm of the Beast’s Castle quite well. Players will be able to race their way through the halls of Beauty and the Beast’s iconic castle when Disney Speedstorm launches sometime later this year.
