Police were out in Prestwich yesterday, Tuesday, to crack down on speeding.
Officers from the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Specials unit took to Heywood Road and Whittaker Lane last night armed with speed detection guns.
They say that the highest speed recorded was 43mph.
Both roads are in built up areas with some sections that are a maximum 20mph and others with a limit of 30mph.
This means that the driver could have been going more than twice the speed limit.
No arrests were reported.
On social media, a spokesperson for GMP Bury South said: “Our Greater Manchester Police Specials were out again educating and reporting drivers who exceed the speed limit.
“Tonight, they were out around Heywood Road and Whittaker Lane in Prestwich.
“The highest recorded speed was 43mph.”
The force’s Specials are voluntary officers who give up their time to work for GMP.
