Superb article – Thanks.

Well written and informative. Thank you.

During these trying times, people should learn how to cook on their own.

The picture of the take-out grilled cheese sandwich just goes to show how lazy and incompetent society has become.

As for the Flea Street Cafe, it has always been an upscale & costly dining venue best reserved for those who can afford to pay more for so few ingredients on the plate.

No sympathy here for either the lazy or the well-moneyed patrons who complain about having nowhere to dine.

If you have a workable kitchen, either use the facility or consider turning it into an ADU as a costly Wolf stove and a Sub Zero refrigerator means absolutely nothing if it’s all for appearances.

Interesting predictions!

Who would want to dine out when COVID is still running rampant?

Don’t some people have any common sense?

And as far as the restaurants are concerned, how much variety do we really need until the options become redundant?

It would also help if the menus weren’t so overpriced in relation to the actual food costs.

^ which is why countless gourmands endorse both Costco hot dogs and the Swedish Meatballs at IKEA.

“San Mateo County experienced the largest increase in food stamp enrollment in the state since January 2020. There was a more than 40% increase in the number of people depending on the CalFresh food benefit program.”

Some fast-food businesses (i.e. Subway and Burger King) are authorized to accept food stamps.

Perhaps some of the struggling local restaurants should consider requesting the same options.

To dine at an expensive restaurant on food stamps might raise some questions among the fiscally conservative.

One can easily buy a USDA Prime-Rib Eye steak at a good butcher shop that accepts food stamps for around $25.00+ and prepare it at home OR order it at an expensive steakhouse for $75.00+.

A Kobe or Wagyu steak will cost even more but some local grocery stores carry them along with fresh wild caught salmon and live Maine lobsters.

It is always best to try and stretch one’s grocery dollars.
