Destiny 2
Time for another Destiny 2 list that I am sure no one will disagree with. This time, I wanted to talk through what I view as the best new weapons of Season of Plunder, and the ones you should be hunting/grinding out/crafting etc. We have a lot of sources of weapons this season, but these are the five, all from very disparate sources, that are some of the strongest, most fun, most powerful of the season. I am not including weapons that got buffed (Wish-Ender) or weapons that got new perks (Battler) that may also be great.
Destiny 2
5. Doom of Chelchis (King’s Fall drop) – You can take your pick of your favorite King’s Fall weapon, including Touch of Malice, but this one is mine with a lot of extremely great combos including the wild Dragonfly/Firefly which is unlike anything else out there, and about to be buffed when Dragonfly spec is rolled up into the base perk. You could also tempt me with an Incandescent Zaouli’s Bane, however.
Destiny 2
4. Delicate Tomb (Battle Pass Exotic) – This has been designed to synergize with Arc 3.0 beautifully, and here I will admit some bias as a Warlock with the new Fallen Sunstar helmet, which also fits with this Ionic Trace-charging weapon like a glove. Constant jolts chain kills, blinding explosions, ability generation and eventually, ammo refill with the catalyst, and I have not had this much fun with an exotic in a while.
Destiny 2
3. Out of Bounds (Crucible Playlist SMG) – We do again have three more weapons for each playlist to farm, but this time it’s the Crucible’s Out of Bounds Arc SMG that’s standing out not just with a huge variety of incredible rolls, but as your prestige, the ability to get 3, 4, 5 even 6 perk options at a time. Arguably one of the best playlist weapons they’ve had since they introduced the concept of playlist weapons in the first place.
Destiny 2
2. Brigand’s Law (Plunder Seasonal Weapon) – Out of all the weapons tied directly to the seasonal content, I am pulling out this sidearm as the highlight, which you can both craft, but also give it Enhanced Voltshot, with Voltshot being one of the best perks Bungie has introduced in ages, making it an essential mob-killing machine in Arc 3.0, and Incandescent on steroids, more or less. While Voltshot is good on most things it can roll on, it feels incredible with Threat Detector or Feeding Frenzy on this thing.
Destiny 2
1. Taipan-4fr (World Drop/Crafting Quest Reward) – This one is just a gimmie. Almost too basic to put here, but I mean, Bungie just casually gave every player the ability to craft arguably the single best heavy for boss DPS in the game. You can craft it with Enhanced Triple Tap and Firing Line, putting it above the uncraftable Trials version, plus it retains the Veist origin trait to refill ammo. It’s almost too good for how easy it is to get, as you’ll get the pattern for free if you do an extremely simple quest at the crafting hub on Mars. But it really is as strong as you’ve heard.
Not to say I don’t have other favorites besides these four, but these are the ones that have really stood out to me this season so far. Maybe I’ll add more as time goes on, but for now, feel free to make your own suggestions.
