Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 introduces new, incredibly strong gear for Endwalker. Here is how to obtain the strongest weapons, as of May 2022
Throughout the years Final Fantasy XIV has had numerous sets of gear for the player to collect, whether it be for fashion or for function. With the release of every post-game patch, players are given the opportunity to obtain more equipment from newly-released content in order to gear up for Extreme content and beyond.
Patch 6.1 titled Newfound Adventure introduced both the brand new Myths of the Realm Alliance Raid, and the Savage version of the Pandaemonium Raid. Along with these it also brought with it the Extreme version of the trial Endsinger’s Aria, the final trial from the Endwalker’s main story questline. All of this new content offers new and unique challenges for the player and stronger equipment as rewards for them to acquire. With that in mind, here is how to acquire the best weapons in Final Fantasy XIV, as of now in May of 2022.
The two strongest sets of weapons in Final Fantasy XIV as of May 2022 are the Augmented Radiant’s Gear (ilvl 600) and the Asphodelos Gear (ilvl 605). While these weapons will undoubtedly put players in a better spot to challenge more content as the post-game for Endwalker continues to roll out, getting either of them can be quite the grind. Starting with the Augmented Radiant’s Gear, players first need to acquire the Radiant’s Gear introduced in Patch 6.05. They can do this by turning in Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy with Cihanti in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.8, Y:10.3). Players will receive Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy as rewards for completing daily roulettes and running level 90 dungeons. After obtaining a complete set of Radiant’s Gear for their desired class players will then have to combine the weapon gear piece with Radiant Roborant. Players can earn this item by completing the savage versions of the Pandaemonium Raid. The third circle drops these items as loot as well as dropping Asphodelos Mythos III which players can use to purchase this item from Djole in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.3, Y: 9.6) or from Mylenie in Labryinthos (X:8.3, Y: 27.5).
The absolute strongest weapons in FFXIV come from the Asphodelos Gear. While the Augmented Radiant’s Gear is quite the grind, the Asphodelos gear can be a long process for some depending on luck. There are two separate ways to obtain the weapon. The first is directly from the raid, The Fourth Circle(Savage) drops an Asphodelos Weapons Coffer to be rolled for amongst all members of the raid. Along with the chance to acquire the weapon outright, the Raid also gives players 1 Asphodelos Mythos IV. While players can turn in eight of these tokens in exchange for their Asphodelos weapon, they are also limited to earning one per week. Additionally, players can only roll for coffers in the Pandaemonium Savage raids once per week, per circle, making the probability of being able to snag an Asphodelos weapon quickly a bit on the low side.
With a bit of grinding and a bit of patience, players will be able to acquire their Augmented Radiant’s or Asphodelos Weapons and be well on their way to being geared up for whatever content the next few patches are likely to bring. As Final Fantasy XIV continues from its most successful expansion yet, there will be evermore weapons for players to acquire and bring to bear against whatever the game throws at them next.
