First PS1/PSP Games Included In New PS Plus Reportedly Leaked – Screen Rant

The first PlayStation games that are coming to PlayStation Plus Premium may have leaked online and they include Tekken 2 and Ridge Racers 2.
The first PS1 and PSP games that could be coming to PlayStation Plus Premium have reportedly leaked online. The upcoming PlayStation Plus revamp will introduce tiers, with the most expensive being PlayStation Plus Premium, which will add retro titles from the PS1, PS2, and PSP.
Sony has revealed that 340 games will be made available to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers at launch, but it’s unknown which games will be added. The first-party Sony games seem to be the most likely to arrive on day one, but there are questions regarding the third-party games. The PlayStation line of consoles has been supported by some incredible third-party studios over the years and, for many users, they would need to be brought on board to make the service worthwhile. It seems likely that the Syphon Filter games are coming to PlayStation Plus, thanks to an age rating in Korea, but this has yet to be confirmed by Sony.

It seems that Sony has started to add PS1 and PSP games to its backend service, in anticipation of the new PlayStation Plus launch in June. According to Redditor the_andshrew, Sony has added two PS1 games to PSN’s backend, namely Tekken 2 and Mr. Driller, and one PSP game, with Ridge Racers 2. These include the internal ID numbers for the games and the links to their images on the official PlayStation website. These games have yet to be announced by Sony and should still be taken as rumors for the time being.
The addition of a Tekken game to PlayStation Plus Premium is a good sign, even if it’s not the one that fans might want. Tekken 3 is regarded as one of the best PS1 games of all time and it was a huge draw for the system back in the day. If these three games are legitimate, then it proves that Sony at least has Bandai Namco on board for PlayStation Plus Premium, as all three games belong to that company. This could also mean that Soul Blade/Soul Edge, the Soulcalibur games, the Xenosaga games, and the older Tales games could be part of the service, as well as the other Tekken and Ridge Racer games.
The PlayStation Plus revamp is arriving in June for subscribers in Europe and North America, but fans in specific countries in Asia will have access to it in May. This means that Sony should start revealing more information about the retro games that will be coming to the service soon. If PlayStation Plus Premium manages to bring the cream of the crop from companies like Bandai Namco, Capcom, Konami, and Square Enix, then it could well be worth the high price of admission.
