Destiny 2 Glitch Allows For Double Special and Heavy Ammo in PvP and PvE – GameRant

A new Destiny 2 glitch allows players to get double the intended amount of Special and Heavy ammo in both PvP and PvE quite easily.
Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted is one of the most impressive seasonal releases in the game because of its scale, which is much bigger than regular Seasons thanks to the addition of the derelict Leviathan as a new Patrol zone. There was also a massive weapon overhaul sandbox patch that was released alongside Season of the Haunted, as Bungie tried to differentiate airborne gameplay and the ability to resist enemy fire by allowing players to spec either into Airborne Effectiveness or Flinch. With all these new moving parts in Destiny 2's sandbox, several issues started to appear in the game across all game modes.
An example is last week's Xur inventory, which included a weapon capable of changing perks continuously, whereas another example comes from the bugged physics of the Duality Dungeon. There was even an exploit to get infinite Legendary Shards by dismantling blue items in Season of the Haunted, and even though it was patched by Bungie, it still compromised Destiny 2's internal economy when players started abusing it.

A new glitch was discovered by Destiny 2 YouTuber and content creator Esoterickk, who found out that by shooting Special or Heavy ammo bricks with a weapon that has both Shoot to Loot and Explosive Payload as its perks, players are able to get double the amount of ammo. This works in PvP and PvE game modes alike, and it is especially game-breaking when it comes to the Crucible because of all the recent changes Bungie made to the ammo economy of Special weapons in order to tune them down globally and move towards a Primary weapon meta.
In fact, several Destiny 2 Special-ammo guns were capable of one-tapping enemy Guardians in the Crucible and were thus changed in order to get only one ammo when picking up a brick. However, this glitch will always provide two ammo when shooting a Special ammo brick in the center with a Shoot to Loot and Explosive Payload weapon, effectively doubling the amount of ammo available. This also works in PvE activities and stacks with Scavenger mods, allowing players to almost refill the magazine of rocket launchers with a single brick, for example.
Because this weekly Destiny 2 reset is dedicated to Trials of Osiris in the Crucible, it's not unlikely that players will take advantage of this glitch whenever possible, up until Bungie patches it. There is no indication of whether Bungie has acknowledged the glitch already or not, however, and it may take more than a day for it to be fixed.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
