Bungie Dev Reveals Destiny 2 Has an Easter Egg Teasing Company's Next Game – GameRant

Former Destiny 2 director Christopher Barrett confirms a popular theory about the game containing an easter egg for Bungie’s next game.
Since its release, Destiny 2 has become one of the most popular free-to-play franchises globally. As the 17th season of the game approaches, the developers are dropping subtle hints about what to expect from the game in the future. The next This Week at Bungie (TWAB) blog post will reportedly talk about the weapon sandbox changes in the upcoming season of Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 is also famous for adding easter eggs that often pay homage to other games, most notably World of Warcraft and Overwatch. Some Destiny 2 players discovered a hidden Saint-14 Easter egg a few years ago, and most of the game's easter eggs are in the form of scannable items located in the Tower.

Speaking of Destiny 2 easter eggs, a prominent name in the Bungie developer team has confirmed an exciting fan theory. Former Destiny 2 director Christopher Barrett confirmed via a Twitter post that the game contains an easter egg about Bungie's next game. Christopher Barret was asked on the social media platform whether the game has an easter egg about Bungie's next IP, to which he simply replied, "Yes." There has been a lot of speculation in the gaming community about Bungie's next title. Many leaks and gaming experts suggest that the next Bugnie game could be in third person, which goes against the company's 20-year-old practice of making FPS games.
Furthermore, Christopher Barret left another one-word response to his previous tweet, saying "Maybe" and adding a moon-shaped smiley face. This emoji possibly suggests that the location of the easter egg could be on the Moon. However, some fans pointed out that Destiny 2 has two moons, the other being Europa, and the easter egg could be on either of the two.
Going by this trend, the upcoming 17th season may contain more easter eggs about Bungie's mysterious next game. Regardless of easter eggs, Destiny 2 fans across the globe are eagerly waiting for the new season and the exciting upgrades it will likely bring.
One of the most talked about changes in the upcoming season is regarding raids and dungeons, which are among Destiny 2's most popular content. The reported change in Season 17 of Destiny 2 will enable weekly rotations as players will be allowed to farm older items. In a previous TWAB, Bungie announced that Destiny 2 players would be able to collect Pinnacle rewards when they complete weekly activities.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
